Bug Parties are what breeding parties are for the gay community in the age of AIDS. We are not endorsing the practice, but to not acknowledge that it happens would be lying.
Many people get sexually excited by the idea of committing risky or forbidden sex. Gays are no different. The only variant is that they cannot get each other pregnant. What they can do is risk infection. The fact that they want to do this for the same reason as hetro breeders is obvious in the slang they use. Many call the practice "Breeding" or "Seeding" or "Getting Knocked Up."
At a bug party, 20 or 30 horny men will show up. Exactly one of them will be HIV positive. No one but the party host and that man will know who he is. An orgy follows with men fucking men while being surrounded by other men getting laid.
No condoms are used and no one knows if they will be the one to get a charged load. Men who have been to parties like this describe them as some of the hottest sex scenes in the planet.
Sex and death have often been psychologically linked, so this makes some sense. Other people say that it is evidence of a growing nihilism in the gay community or else of people putting too much reliability on modern anti-AIDS drugs.
The important thing for any bug party is that everyone who attends must understand the risk and that all sex must be consensual. Men are allowed to request that their partners pull out.
At the end of the day people do have the right to fuck anyone they want and to make their own sexual and health choices. As one site dedicated to the practice says "Leave your Trojans at home, just bring your bone!"
